Hernia Care Center

At VIDA, we have experts treating for Hernia which is in common known to occur when you have weaker muscles. The most common types of Hernia includes Umbilical hernia, inguinal hernia, femoral hernia and Hiatal hernia. Hernia can be a usual problem instilled in you since birth or develop in your younger self when you have some sort of weakness in your abdominal wall, is it often painless but can cause discomfort in certain circumstances.

A hernia usually comes out in your abdomen, in between your chest or hips. If you have a detectable lump, a pain or pressure in any one of these body parts please do consult a doctor, these contents can disappear temporarily and come out again when you are coughing, seated down, chuckling or in the place of any action that puts force into it.

Hernia that sits on your body (Groins/Thighs) for a period of time without being treated can cause it to get trapped in your abdominal walls which can then result in a “Strangulated Hernia” where the blood supply to the infected (Herniated) tissue is halted, thereby treating the hernia in due course is very important. Most importantly, a hernia WILL NOT go away on its own, it requires surgery. Some individuals prefer to not have a surgery if the lump is small in size or if they assume that the type of hernia doesn’t cause much damage.

As of Alana Biggers, symptoms of a “Strangulated Hernia” are known to be as follows:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Increased Heart rate
  • Fever
  • Sudden pains in the area herniated
  • A hernia lump that turns either red, purple or dark in color
  • Inability or difficulty to move your bowels or pass gas
  • Bloody stool

Hernia is known to be detected by a specialist after asking the patient to either cough or can be easily diagnosed via a CT scan. No matter the situation, it is always best for you to consult a doctor and that is why our team of professionals here at VIDA will initially give in their best and let you know in detail how their specialization will help you to feel better all over again.
